Johanna trained as an Archaeological Conservator and Restorer and worked for prestigious organisations in the UK and abroad (- including English Heritage, the Institute of Archaeology, Oxford and the British School of Archaeology at Ankara, Turkey), where she developed a love of the ancient and the antique. Conserving objects as diverse as the Corinthian capitals of Appuldurcombe House on the Isle of Wight, to tapas from New Guinea, she developed a keen eye for detail and technical quality.
In the mid-1990s Johanna started her decorative antiques business and exhibited on the Fairs circuit, including at the renowned Battersea Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair. While building up a broad client base and contacts at the Fairs, an important part of her business also involved sourcing pieces to place in client properties.
Believing that 21st century living requires something of a fusion of tastes of ‘the old and the new’: a juxtaposition of period antiques with more contemporary pieces, this is the range of furnishings that Johanna now offers.
Specialising in lighting, screens, prints & pictures, and other decorative objects, Johanna offers a selection of items which may be used on their own or in powerful combinations to create a unique look to suit: loft-style living, period houses and flats, hotels and bars. She caters for many type of customer: the private client, the interior designer, the image conscious developer.
Johanna offers a Sourcing Service (to include consultancy) to track down the right piece for the right place.
